Why I'm Running

Experience, problem-solving, and a commitment to Mount Prospect.

I retired in 2024 after 28 years in automation consulting, so I’m at a point in my life where I have both the time and experience to give back to the community. I’ve lived in Mount Prospect since 2008, raised my family here, coached youth sports and robotics, and spent many years involved with the Mount Prospect Bike Club.

My professional experience has shaped how I approach problems. As an engineer, I spent my career understanding complex systems, identifying the important technical questions, evaluating alternatives, and solving problems based on facts. As Technical Director, I served as the technical leader for more than 200 engineers. I would often jump into tough situations, get up to speed fast, and help find solutions where others found only problems. The same skills would have real value in local government.

Mount Prospect is facing increasingly complex issues that require more than simply understanding the broad policy question. Whether we are considering how to regulate data centers, manage stormwater, or improve our transportation infrastructure, elected officials need to understand the technical fundamentals well enough to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and make well informed decisions.

Through my experiences in the community and my engagement with Village government, I’ve developed a real interest in how our Village works and how decisions get made. I’ve seen situations where I could have made a positive impact had I been on the Board.

I decided that rather than continuing to simply raise concerns as a resident, I’m in a position to contribute directly. My professional experience, community involvement, and familiarity with the Village give me something useful to bring to the Board, and now is the right time.
